Autosomal genes are located on non-sex chromosomes. (autosomal inheritance = free inheritance). In contrast to the sex- linked inheritance both male and female have two chromosomes for the location of the genes. The autosomal dominant gene is a gene that is visible even when present only in one chromosome. If a bird has a specific dominant gene, it will show the specific factor. Both male and female can be double- factor or single-factor. A bird can never be split, they either have it and show it, or they don’t have it at all. Here are some mating examples: D = the factor is present d = the factor is not present

This birds are never used for a good breeding success. The factor Superoxidation is only present in canaries of the black serie.The name comes “Piel-Negra” comes from the Spanish language and means "black skin". BUDGERIGARS: double-factor Crest(ed (=lethal) In some countries this form of mating (Dd xDd) is prohibited for animal welfare reasons. (i.e. Germany).
